The January flood touched everyone in Brisbane in some way. The recovery process will be a marathon, not a sprint and will take many months, even years. The good news is the city is back in business and future development must proceed. Fulfilling the vision for Brisbane as Australia’s New World City needs thoughtful, comprehensive and courageous planning.

How have the January floods affected the city’s planning process?
Is there an opportunity to rebuild Brisbane to be even better?
What lessons can we learn about our physical and social environments?
And how do we tackle the immediate challenges of returning people to their homes and businesses while continuing to position ourselves to cope with the overall growth challenges of the future?

The Brisbane City Council is well positioned to answer those challenges. Hear Cr Quirk’s views and ask your own questions about translating this vision into reality.
