150 years after Ipswich was established as a municipality, the State Government has announced a new, model city – one of three in the south east Queensland corner – will be developed at Ripley Valley.

Historically, Ipswich rose to prominence as the railway and manufacturing centre of Queensland on the back of its coal mines which attracted industry to the town. In 2010 and beyond, what are the opportunities for Ipswich to renew itself as a thriving, vibrant city?

What dreams do its citizens – particularly its young leaders – hold for their city? What could Ipswich look like 50 years from now, if only we dreamed big enough, planned wisely enough, and built well enough?

In this fascinating panel discussion, Ipswich citizens share their dreams and aspirations for their city and ask the question: what’s the next New Hope for Ipswich?

Introduced by Minister for Transport and local MP, Rachel Nolan, the panel includes Mayor Paul Pisasale, Springfield Land Corporation’s Raynuha Sinnathamby, Growth Management Queensland’s Gary White, and local young leader Mylyn Dat.
