Professor Mark Dodgson, Director, Technology and Innovation Management Centre, University of Queensland Business School

After 8 years at the Science Policy Research Unit at Sussex University Professor Dodgson was appointed Foundation Professor of Management at the Australian National University (ANU) (1993-2002) where he was Executive Director of the National Graduate School of Management.

He is a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, and Visiting Professor at Imperial College. He is editor-in-chief of Innovation: Management, Policy and Practice, a journal he founded 12 years ago, and a member of the editorial board of 7 other academic journals.

In 2007 he was awarded the Eureka Prize for Leadership in Business Innovation. In 2008 he was Special Advisor to the Government Review of Australia’s national innovation system.

Mark has produced 11 books and over 100 academic articles and book chapters on innovation. He has advised numerous companies and governments throughout Europe, Asia and North and South America and has researched and taught innovation in over 50 countries. He is a founding Director of the Think, Play, Do Group.

His latest book (with David Gann) is Innovation: A Very Short Introduction (Oxford, Oxford University Press, 2010).
